Income Inequality is Visible. Wealth Inequality is Deeper.

Notes on Inequality #25

Income Inequality is Visible. Wealth Inequality is Deeper.

Income inequality tells us who earns more. Wealth inequality tells us who owns more.

Wealth Inequality is even worse than Income Inequality.

The second gap is considerably larger.

The top 10% receive about 53% of global income, while the bottom 50% receive only 8%.

But when we look at wealth, the contrast is striking:

The top 10% own about 75% of global wealth, while the bottom half of humanity owns just 2%.

Take a second look. A serious imbalance that the world may not be taking seriously enough.
