HOPE : From Inequality to Opportunity.

[ Highlighting Opportunities for Poverty Eradication ].

Series #15

Hope is often seen as an emotion. I believe it is also an economic force.

A person struggling for daily survival rarely thinks about tomorrow’s opportunities. The first step towards poverty eradication is to reduce that uncertainty. Once basic needs are reasonably secured, hope begins to take shape. And with hope comes the confidence to learn, work, save, invest, and aspire for a better future.

The first responsibility of any poverty programme is to reduce that constant insecurity.

This is one of the principles that inspired my proposed P2P( People-to-People) DBT model. Poverty eradication is not just about transferring resources; it is about creating conditions where hope can evolve into opportunity.

When hope becomes visible, poverty begins to lose its grip.

For readers who would like to know more about the P2P DBT model referred to in this post, here’s a brief article published by the Julius Baer Foundation.
